Hong Kong Fairs Close with more than 40,000 buyers

HONG KONG--The 27th edition of the Housewares Fair and the Hong Kong International Home Textiles and Furnishings Fair organized by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC), attracted more than 42,700, an 8.3 percent increase over last year according to the Organizer.

The Mitchell Group Triples Warehouse

CHICAGO – The Mitchell Group, a textile sourcing and converting company, will triple the size
of its warehouse/ in Pontotoc, Ms. May 8 with 100,000 square feet, the company says.
The warehouse space with adjacent offices will house the company’s customer service
department. The additional space and upgraded technology will allow Mitchell to provide a
higher level of service and more efficient deliveries, said Bill Fisch, president.

Pollack Leaves Pollack

NEW YORK—Mark Pollack is leaving Pollack Associates, the company which bears his name that he
founded along with two other partners, after 25 years as design director.
“I am stepping down to pursue other interests,” he said in a letter to one of his suppliers. “Although my
last day in the office will likely be April 26th, I will remain involved with the company as a principal, advisor
and consultant.”

Welspun Closes Kojo Hospitality

NEW YORK—J. Barry Leonard, CEO and president of Welspun USA, Inc. has confirmed the closing of its
Kojo Hospitality division.

However, Welspun Hospitality will continue as before supplying hotels with sheets, towels and rugs
and some decorative bedding items, he said. When asked what changed Welspun’s mind about owning
Kojo, Leonard’s only comment was that it did not fit the company’s core strategy as a volume supplier of
sheets and towels to the hotel industry.

It is understood that the Kojo San Diego headquarters has also been closed.
