Heimtextil 2010 Reports Six Percent Growth in International Visitors

FRANKFURT, Germany - With more than 72,000 visitors from more than 120 countries, the 40th annual Heimtextil Frankfurt saw an increase in traffic from buyers who showed increasing optimism that the worst may be over or at least nearly so.

The show presented products and trends from 2,521 exhibitors from Jan. 13 to 16 in its Messe exhibition halls.

ITMA Introduces Window Coverings Pavilion

HIGH POINT, North Carolina – The International Textile Market Association has announced that it will host a group of more than a dozen exhibitors that supply workrooms and manufacturers of window covering and bedding for the first time at the upcoming Showtime market in June.

SURTEX Moves to New Javits Spot

WHITE PLAINS, New York – SURTEX, the annual trade show dedicated to the sale and licensing of original art and design, will be moved to the main level of the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center, Level 3, directly adjacent to the National Stationery Show and closer to the International Contemporary Furniture Fair (ICFF) than it had been in past years.

Scoperta Cancelled; Exhibitors Scramble

CIRENCESTER, United Kingdom - The 12th edition of Scoperta originally scheduled for May 5-7, 2009 in Chiasso, Switzerand, has been canceled by the organizer Trade-Link Ltd.

The website www.scopertaexpo.com says that Scoperta has been canceled and there is no further information or contacts there. Bill Davis, owner of Trade-Link and the founder of Scoperta could not be reached for comment.

High Point Offers Deep Discounts for Market-goers

HIGH POINT, North Carolina – Attendees of the spring edition of the semi-annual High Point Market, which hosts home textiles exhibitors like Algemene USA, American Century Home Fabrics, Covington Fabric & Design, Cone Jacquards and many others, will see a significant drop in hotel room rates at their favorite properties around the market, in addition to discounts in rental car fees at participating companies.

Room rates at area hotels have dropped 15 to 25 percent for the spring market week, which is set for April 25 to 30, according to the High Point Market Authority.

Report from 93rd Annual IH/MR&S is Positive

WHITE PLAINS, New York – This year's International Hotel/Motel & Restaurant Show, which took place in New York City on Nov. 8-11, generated positive feedback from both its vendors and buyers who came looking for innovation and high quality at reasonable prices.

Show organizer, George Little Management, released a report stating that IH/M&RS, in its 93rd year, attracted 34,050 registrants and 1,250 exhibitors. The participants hailed from national purchasing firms, management companies, military base lodges, boutique hotel operators and multi-unit owners.

Trend Table Grows at Heimtextil 2009
